This is my third full-length album and I'm super proud of it. "seeing i god" feels like the start of a long and beautiful journey of finding a balance between two things I love: aggressive rock styles coupled with earnest and authentic acoustic tones. I wrote much of the record around the time of my father's death, and the dove image as well as the song "The Dove" are in tribute to him. The dove is holding a rose to represent love of family and community as well as a chisel to represent dedication to creative practice. I was also in a long distance relationship at the time of writing this record, so themes of loss and longing definitely play into lyrical content as well as themes of rugged determination and perseverance. This marks the first time I have used electric guitar in my recordings, which is interesting considering electric guitar was my first instrument. It felt good to give myself permission to do that. Other instrumentation on the record includes Irish bouzouki, bodhran, violin, harmonica and a variety of gongs and bells. Recorded at Castaway 7 Studios in Ventura, California. Written, produced and performed by Beau James Wilding, except violin performed by David Stone.
