The Dove Official Video
The second single from "seeing i god", the third full-length album by Beau James Wilding. What is living a life with perceived imperfections and the work of art that is living that life? How can we make it a life of beauty not in spite of, but including those imperfections? The Dove is inspired by my father, who had a brain injury for the majority of my life. Soaring violin scrapes and churning electric guitars abound in a cacophony of furious beauty over an entrancing bodhran beat. How can my mis-steps guide my path? How can my flaws enhance the magic of my story? Already complete, letting go into the mystery, sorrow and joy simultaneously arise. “Flowers fall, even though we love them” – Ehei Dogen. Dedicated to The Dove, David Charles Wilding. With a grateful bow to @larrynimmer8090 and David Zamudio.
Set Myself On Fire Official Video
What does it mean to make the most of our one precious life? How can I maintain a practice of asking myself this question in every moment? The lyrics play with pairs of opposites and the dichotomy of balance. How can I make a difference if I die for a cause? How can I work effectively without rest? How can we take life seriously without somehow simultaneously taking aspects of it lightly? The song fuses elements of Irish Traditional Music (bodhran and Irish Bouzouki) with dirty electric guitars, energetic pacing and Satchmo meets Henry Rollins style vocals. Heavily influenced by classic blues, Irish Traditional Music and 80s hardcore punk, the sound is one that intentionally plays with the aforementioned pairs of opposites, juxtaposing a shimmering Irish Bouzouki alongside an aggressive vocal style and droning electric guitar alongside a galloping bodhran rhythm. Lovers and Friends (Sean More Cover)
I adore this song originally written by Sean Mone of Belfast. I hope you like it too! This is from the single release party for “the dove“ at brew lab in Carpinteria California and was the first song played. Tom Kenny plays bodhran and Shruti box.
